In 1998, Mr.Weili Guan and Mrs.Lianyue Wang founded the Kangning hospital, which is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for patients with mental illness. After nearly 20 years of development, Kangning hospital has become China's largest private healthcare group with nationwide subsidiaries. With 13 individually-owned and management subsidiaries, the hospital owns over 3000 beds.

In 2011, Kangning Hospital under Ministry of Health had received the national key clinical specialist (mental health) project, won the top-class hospital qualification in 2012 and is currently the only three-grade private mental health hospital.
